The Ft Utility has been specifically designed to perform in multiple musical settings. The medium shallow Ft S cup is combined with a 3.65 bore and the Ft4.2 back-bore. The S cup provides the compression necessary for efficiency in the high registers and the Ft4.2 allows room for an open bottom register when needed.

Creating a bright deliberate sound with great intonation the Ft Utility is an ideal crossover mouthpiece. Great for show work or section big band playing it is also popular as a legit mouthpiece for the commercial lead player. For the classical players it works well on the piccolo and for quintet, chamber and the lighter orchestral repertoire. A useful ‘get out of jail’ mouthpiece to have in the collection.
